Joshua Ray 10/11/08

I am so proud to be a member of Brazoria County Cavalry. I have been on several rides and experienced the feeling of being a part of something great. Not until we had the celebration for my son Joshua Ray did i realize the full extent of what it means to have the support of the Brazoria County Cavalry. My son was so surprised when you all rode into Hanson Park. He loved the sound of the motorcycles and the presence of each and every one of you. He was in such awe and i felt so proud when he shook everyones hand as they came to the pavillion. Every part of the presentation was wonderful from start to finish and means so much to us. It was such a blessing to have ya’ll there. I won some “Cool Mom” points that day. For that and for everything i am grateful. See ya’ll on the next ride.
Peace to my fellow riders, Linda Ray and Family

Veterans Fair Day 10/10/08

Words cannot express how I feel towards the Brazoria County Cavalry, the West of the Brazos Military Troops, the Angleton and Lake Jackson Fire Department and all the wonderful folks who took their precious time to be with us as we opened the Brazoria County Fair 2008. It was a vision I had, to let the Veteran’s know that BCFA has in the past and will continue in the future to support our Veterans and Armed Force Servicemen and women with free admission to the Brazoria County Fair on the first Friday, Opening night each year. The medallion we chose, is to be worn each year for their entry. We hope they will display it proudly and wear at our Opening ceremonies each year.

For me personally, it gave me some closure in a way that only my Dad could understand.

It was not only a celebration for BCFA for our 70th year anniversary, but a time to pay our respects for those heroes that live among us every day. Without their sacrifices, we would not be where we are today. There were several tearing eyes as Paul Kresta gave his speech on freedom, our country, and our youth. Debbie Anderson with the West of the Brazos Military Troops was priceless. Without her’s and your guidance in the beginning, the Honor Guards through the ceremony, and our President Paul Kresta’s from the day I began this position, I know I could not have pulled it off. It was everything I had envisioned.

Again, thank you to you and also to each and every member of your group. I hope the Brazoria County Cavalry will be willing to make this a BCFA tradition each year as we salute our Veterans and Armed Forces at our Opening ceremonies each year.

Respectfully,
Theresa Easterling

Memorial Fence 10/05/08

Brazoria County Cavalry,
Jim and I would like to express the sincere gratitude and heart felt thank you to you all. What a blessing you guys and ladies are to us. When we came in from our daughter’s house and saw our fence on the ground we were very saddened by the sight. We decided to rebuild by first picking the fence off the ground and pulling up the broken 4×4 posts. From there we were not sure how or when it would be back up again. Then Alvey Crask called and said he had contacted Brazoria Coutny Cavalry to help get the individual crosses off the broken fence. And then on Sunday afternoon, it was standing just three weeks from destruction to re-building what an accomplishment. I know each of you had your own repairs to homes and yards to work on, as I know you also had been through “Ike” and the misery he caused us all. For the Cavalry to give up a Sunday afternoon to help strangers is a testimony to the character and content of your BIG hearts. We are so proud to know your group. If you ever need our help please call so we can repay a small portion of the help you are to us. A special thanks to Stony Ward, Tony Martinez, Joanna Bertrand and David Soria who came at 9:00 am and began the hard work of building a fence. May God continue to bless you as you bless others with your kindness, patriotism and service to your neighbors in Brazoria County.
May God keep you in his care.
Jimmy and Mary Jackson

Wesley Hutchings 10/04/08

LCPL Hutchings, Wesley James Warvi 10/04/08

Karen, Wesley and I are so grateful for the Brazoria County Cavalry. The Brazoria County Cavalry Members are so caring and unselfish! We are so blessed to be a part of the Brazoria County Cavalry and being able to ride and support our men and women that are/have served our Country. BUT, when it is for your own son that is something special!

When our son LCPL Hutchings realized what was going on, he was speechless! The look on his face when we pulled up to meet with you’ll was priceless! He looked at me with a big tear in his eye and said, “Dad, I’m doing this for the Love of our Country”! I started tearing up myself! It was an honor to be able to share our sons welcome home with the Brazoria County Cavalry and the community! It is one of the most memorable moments in our life right up there with the birth of one of your children! The memories will always be with our family and friends forever!

May God keep blessing each and every one of you for all that you all do for our Community, County and Country!

With Sincere Gratitude,
Karen, Wesley and Wayman
