Dear Cavalry Members,
Thank you for the wonderful Memorial Day program done at Sweeny Fountains Assisted Living. It was well presented and honored our senior vets as well as those first responders who put their lives on the line every day and night. A special thanks to David B. who came at short notice and gave his time and talents! I hope to be at the Open House and again thanks so much for all you do for our county and our country!
Yours truly,
Margie C. VanCleave

Dear Brazoria County Calvary,
I want you all to know how awesome y’all are. My boys and family and all our friends were just thrilled when you guys came driving up. Everyone said it was so exciting and gave them goose bumps and brought tears to their eyes. The honor is ours to have each and every one of you come to our house, thanking our sons, but in turn letting us thank all of you for what you do and have done and continue to do every day. That’s a great honor for us to be able to shake hands with all of you, ya’ll are my heroes. We will never forget it and we will always appreciate it. Thanks again for making our day and our 35th anniversary.

Thanks for all that the Cavalry does. We are so proud of you all, each and every one. I have to laugh…you all are so…. impressive coming down the road that if a person did not know who you were, they would not quite know whether to run and hide or “wait and see”…ha ha ha ha. Have a blessed, blessed day!
Best Regards,
Marcia Lyn Cohen

This morning in church, Joe Permenter, the Vietnam vet who Tracy got up on the trailer to recognize at Danbury’s Red White and Blue Festival, got up and expressed his appreciation for what “Project Patriotism” means to him as a veteran. He said that he couldn’t speak about it before now without losing it, but he wanted to let the Cavalry know how much he appreciated the recognition at the Red White & Blue Festival and for “Project Patriotism”. He said that he knows that the community appreciates the flags and what they stand for.
As you say, we are making a difference in our county, and I’m glad to be a small part of it.

Here is a link to the pictures taken by the Brazosport Facts, May 29 at the ceremony dedicating flags to our soldiers and first responders.

For those who don’t know about “Project Patriotism” it is where the city of Danbury flies flags 365 days a year to honor those who protect our freedoms. The city of Brazoria was the first in our county (and maybe the first in our country) to do this, and I’m proud that Danbury is the second city to honor our heroes in this manner.
I want to thank all who helped in any way in getting this accomplished and especially the Brazoria County Cavalry for providing the manpower to put the flags up.
