I know that I can speak for the entire family when I say “Thank You” so much for all you are doing not only for our family but for all the others that you have honored. This wonderful organization that helps honor our country’s heroes is phenomenal. Too many did treat our veterans from the Vietnam War horribly when all they were doing was serving their country and what it stands for, freedom. I believe it is never too late to say thank you for what you did for me and our country. I am proud to say that my husband and I are a part of this organization.

There is no word to express our gratitude. Hno Gutierrez was delighted and touched with thisexpression of love and care. You all did a wonderful job. My church is still thrilled and commenting on what they saw. No telling that you put all those beautiful gifts and program in such a short, shortnotice. My congregation was impressed of the program, its quality, the words, and the people that attended. Hno Gutierrez will have this unforgettable day in his heart for the rest of his life. One of hiscomments was that the honors are always expressed to the people when they die, and they don’t get to see these beautiful recognition when they are alive, as he did. He was very thankful of everything you and we did.
Once again, thank you so much in the name of our Primera Iglesia Bautista to ALL OF YOU.
God Bless you All!

As the Cavalry members have heard countless times: I cannot thank the Cavalry enough. I am speaking for me personally and on behalf of the children and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends of Alice Marie Haggerty Redd, United States Army 1st LT, WW II for your selfless service on 22 July 2010.
The Brazoria County Cavalry members, the mayor of Brazoria, and the mayor of Danbury all put their personal time on hold and gave the funeral services, the escort to the cemetery, and the burial service the Dignity, the Honor and the Respect that this war veteran so well deserved.
Although I have personally made countless rides with the Cavalry and funeral escorts with the PGR, it has a very different perspective being on the “receiving” end of your selfless giving. You make an everlasting and positive effect when you perform your service – more than you know unless you are a “receiver”, as I was.
All the family wishes to also acknowledge the fact that the Cavalry had a 190 mile day through rain storms, hot and humid weather conditions. When the Cavalry says “Rain or Shine Event”, they walk their talk. We also make note that the “Brazoria county Cavalry exists to assist the families of Brazoria County, Texas …” The Cavalry clearly went beyond Brazoria County to “assist one of their own”. The family is very grateful for that.
In closing we want to emphasize the positive and lasting impact the Cavalry has at these services. Trust me on this – it is much more than you even realize and certainly more than I ever realized.
You have permission to post the photographs of this service.
YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE! GOD BLESS AMERICAN & GOD BLESS THE CAVALRY.
Respectfully,
Joe Kilchrist

A short note with formal letter to follow. The BCC walked their talk yesterday. Honor – Dignity – Respect – Plus all of this beyond the Brazoria County line. I humbly thank you and those that rode through the rain. As you know I have made many escorts both with the BCC and PGR, but even with that, being on the “receiving” side is almost overwhelming and I knew what to expect! The BCC has more positive impact than you know. All of my best to you, from me, and from a very grateful family.

To all the BCC who escorted my mother-in-law, Alice Redd, to her resting place. It was a wonderful salute to Alice for all she did for the service men in WW II. My father did this honor for many servicemen in his many years; he was a Marine during WW II. So seeing that young Marine there that day was a true testament to what our servicemen are made of….honor! Alice must have been so proud that day of all of you and so grateful for your time.
Many, many thanks.
