Brazoria County Calvary,
July 24th, 2010 what a day we will always remember when all the Fire Trucks, and a huge Motorcycle caravan driven by the Brazoria County Cavalry, City Officials, and many other sirens, flashing lights, American Flags and so much patriotism coming down the street for as far as we could see. Chills racing and tears running down our faces as we slowly watched one by one pull up and take their place to Honor our American Heroes. During this celebration my son in law Sgt Tracy Jones was honored for his tour of duty in Iraq and the send off of him being stationed in Okinawa for 3 years, in which he will be going to Afghanistan for 180 days at a time off and on while in Okinawa. The honoring of 2 special Viet Nam Vets, My brother Sgt Benny Hudson, US Army, and brother in law E5 Jamie Hill, US Army, for their time served in Viet Nam. There was also special recognition for my cousin Troy Surgener for time served in WWII and the Korean War (which I did not know he was in the military till that day). There was such and awesome presentation that day, that everyone has talked about. And I believe it has touched many a heart and brought them closer to what the war is really all about.
I want to thank the Brazoria County Calvary for such a great job that they did for our family and the many families around. Words can never express what this means to all of us and our families. You’re in our thoughts and prayers daily. You are an awesome group of caring people. May Gold Bless and watch over you.

I sent this to Sheriff Wagner on Monday and wanted you to see it. Thanks again for your tribute to my husband Larry Mize.

Sunday we had the most amazing experience when the Brazoria County Cavalry honored my husband Larry Mize for his service in Vietnam and welcomed him home 42 years after his service in Vietnam. I can’t begin to tell you what an honor this was for our whole family and how humbled we were by the experience. One of the most emotional days of our lives.
The purpose of this Email is to honor another hero of Brazoria County & that is Tracy Read. I first learned of Tracy in January when the Cavalry had a tribute & video to all the veterans they had welcomed home in 2009 at the Lake Jackson Civic Center. I was hooked listening to the stories & stayed & watched the whole video. I introduced myself to Tracy at that time & told him about Larry. My friend & my boss Judge Jeremy Warren & Tracy have been trying ever since to get me to find time to honor Larry and we finally did yesterday. Tracy is dedicated to all the veterans of Brazoria County and works tirelessly in their honor everyday. He makes each & everyone of them feel special and proud to have served their country. Tracy only had a weeks notice to get everything ready for Larry but he made it happened and it was GREAT! He puts everyone at ease and makes you feel part of the ceremony.
It is an honor to know Tracy and the people that ride with him. Tracy gives of himself unselfishly to the Veterans of Brazoria County. He is a true American Hero who loves his Country and believes in the American Way. We need more people like him. I wanted to be sure you knew how highly people think of Tracy & his organization. I’ve heard over & over since January what a great organization this is. Tracy and the people who ride with him are true American Heroes. Thank you Charles, you are another Hero of Brazoria County who gives of himself for the better of the citizens. God Bless America and Brazoria County.
Thanks,
Deedee Mize
Words can not express the gratitude Eric and our family has for the wonderful ride the Cavalry did for Eric Anderson on 8/21/10. Eric was in total amazement that 55 members of your wonderful organization showed up with 34 motorcycles to honor our American Hero. It was such a perfect event planned to the finest detail. The wonderful feeling you gave Eric can not begin to be put into words. He was totally taken aback that so many people showed up to honor him for his service to his country. To have so many veterans present at his ride and for your organization to take the time to honor our Hero in a truly honorable fashion takes my breath away. I urge any family member of an American soldier past or present to invite the Cavalry out to honor your loved one in the fashion and honor for which they have served this wonderful country. Hats off to all of you for a job well done!!! Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Schneider and family.
