8/22/10 – Larry Mize

I sent this to Sheriff Wagner on Monday and wanted you to see it. Thanks again for your tribute to my husband Larry Mize.

Sunday we had the most amazing experience when the Brazoria County Cavalry honored my husband Larry Mize for his service in Vietnam and welcomed him home 42 years after his service in Vietnam. I can’t begin to tell you what an honor this was for our whole family and how humbled we were by the experience. One of the most emotional days of our lives.

The purpose of this Email is to honor another hero of Brazoria County & that is Tracy Read. I first learned of Tracy in January when the Cavalry had a tribute & video to all the veterans they had welcomed home in 2009 at the Lake Jackson Civic Center. I was hooked listening to the stories & stayed & watched the whole video. I introduced myself to Tracy at that time & told him about Larry. My friend & my boss Judge Jeremy Warren & Tracy have been trying ever since to get me to find time to honor Larry and we finally did yesterday. Tracy is dedicated to all the veterans of Brazoria County and works tirelessly in their honor everyday. He makes each & everyone of them feel special and proud to have served their country. Tracy only had a weeks notice to get everything ready for Larry but he made it happened and it was GREAT!  He puts everyone at ease and makes you feel part of the ceremony.

It is an honor to know Tracy and the people that ride with him. Tracy gives of himself unselfishly to the Veterans of Brazoria County. He is a true American Hero who loves his Country and believes in the American Way. We need more people like him.  I wanted to be sure you knew how highly people think of Tracy & his organization. I’ve heard over & over since January what a great organization this is. Tracy and the people who ride with him are true American Heroes. Thank you Charles, you are another Hero of Brazoria County who gives of himself for the better of the citizens. God Bless America and Brazoria County.

Thanks,

Deedee Mize
