12/27/10 – Thank You!

Our family appreciates so very much you taking time to check
on Leroy. He has had a very good holiday this year. As I mentioned,
I had asked him last week if things were bad for him and he told me
he was over it. Those memories are still there and always will be.
We were on I Chat with our son shortly before you called and he had
just mentioned Christmas of 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge so
we know those bad memories are still there but he is dealing with
things much better. We will always be grateful to your group. Your call
was the icing on his cake. Our apologies if things were crazy around here as
we had just opened gifts and there was a lot of noise and excitement
with t he 5 young ones.

I will mention, as probably you have noticed, Leroy is having some
memory problems but does well most of the time. He has had bad leg
problems the past week or so. He fell three times a week ago Sunday
as we were leaving church services. There are always some of the men
to be at his side to help him to the car.
Thanks again for caring.

12/26/10 – Tomas Kuchar

Just wanted to say thanks so much for coming out Sunday, 12/26/10 to honor my nephew Thomas Kuchar. I can never say thank you enough or express how much it meant to all of our family. Thomas was so surprised and so happy that his Dad rode with you and he got to see him.

It was supposed to be a surprise for us that he was coming home from Iraq for some R&R, but I wanted to surprise him by having you come to honor him. I couldn’t get in touch with any of you or make any definite plans until we knew he was stateside and had plane tickets to come here. By the time I found out for sure and was able to call, it was already December 21st, five days until the event. When I called, I had said that since it was only 5 days away and Christmas weekend, if you could not do it, I would completely understand. You told me, “Don’t worry about it, we will make it happen” and that you did.

I want to say that you are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. Everyone in the Cavalry that came out was so nice. That feeling you get when you hear and feel the rumble of all the motorcycles coming is like nothing else. It’s so exciting. But more than anything, just the fact that you take time away from your family and obligations of life to do this, is the most wonderful thing. We send these boys away as babies, right out of high school and they come back as Men. We never know completely what they witness and have to go through while they are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. When they come home, they should be honored.

Again, thank you for all you do, not just for Thomas, but for all the families you do this for. The world needs more people like you!! I feel blessed just to have met you. God will reward you for your kindness and dedication to what you do!!

RIDE SAFE AND GOD BE WITH YOU!!

Your new friend,

Brenda and Donnie Simoneau
