Brazoria County Cavalry,
You made my day and my sons, Ragin, and Ryan’s day, by honoring my husband’s and their fathers 70th Birthday, and Time served in Vietnam. You will never know how that made him feel and his family to. You all are doing such a wonderful thing to honor our men and women like this. Words can’t even express all I would love to say to each and every one of you, except Thank You!! From the bottom of our hearts. This will be something Roger will never ever forget, and neither will I, as his wife, and his son’s. I will be praying for all your good work. May our Lord Jesus Christ bless each and every one of you for all your precious time and commitment to this beautiful cause. My son Ragin said something that day! That he would always be a supporter of Brazoria County Cavalry, well so will his mother. Thank you again.
Blessings to you all,
Becky Pate

On behalf of the Pate Family we would like to personally thank you all for making dad\’s70th birthday extra special. It was a very impressive entrance and a memorable ceremony. Everyone in attendance was touched by your words. I know that my dad will count that as one of the best days of his life and we have The Cavalry to thank for that. Again, we appreciate all your time and effort in making this day so special.
Sincerely,
The Pate Family

I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart everyone from the Cavalry family for your support through the hardest day (week) of my life. Thank you all for attending my husbands funeral..for leading us to the cemetery. Although that day was to bury my husband…I wanted my children to see..to see all of you..and your support and respect for my husband..their father. I think my son will always remember how his daddy left this world that day..and how much he was loved by many people…and the respect that was shown on that Friday for my husband. And you all were a HUGE part in that..I can’t thank you enough!
On a personal note…we are going to be ok..I hate that it is without John-Henry..and this has changed my world in a way I never could have imagined. We are all still struggling…but, working through things. We have to get used to daddy not being here..fill our time with other things than we used to with him here. Our daughter talks about daddy all the time…our son..it’s taking him a bit longer to really open up. I think they both are worried about mommy “going away”. That crushes my heart that our children have this fear now. But, these two children of mine..keep me going..keep me sane and keep me from falling apart.
Thank you all so much again for being apart of that day. I love you all and God Bless each one of you and your families!
Love,
Jodi Janse van Rensburg

We are truly in awe at the participation of Brazoria and Matagorda Co Cavalries in John-Henry’s funeral services. You truly honored a fallen hero. He was our hero, too. He and Jodi were a perfect match and he was a real, on hands Daddy to Maya and John Christian. Bro. Jody said it right when he described him as steel and velvet. Anyone who knew us…..knew how Elmer and I felt about him way before he died. He will be sorely missed and mourned forever.
Thank you again for making good memories out of a bad one……not just for our whole family, but especially for John-Christian. Please convey our thanks and gratitude to your Cavalry.
In Christ with love,
Donna and Elmer (Tibby) Burch
John-Henry’s mother and father in law.

Thank you to the Brazoria County Cavalry for the impressive ceremony honoring our dear, departed friend, Monte Hack. His family and friends were touched by the presentation made to his widow and the salute to Hack (who was a very decorated Korean and Vietnam veteran). It was a very respectful and professional display of honor!
