With the help of the Brazoria County Cavalry, a gentleman from the Bay City DAV, and everybody from Chapter 39 DAV we had a very successful day. We collected donations for Memorial Day at Wal-Mart in Lake Jackson, Stewarts in Brazoria, and I think Stewarts in Sweeny. (I didn’t spell that right did I) This has been the most successful day of collecting donations for the DAV that I have been associated with in my tenure with the Chapter 39 DAV. A very special thanks to Gary Oltz and Brazoria County Cavalry for their very gracious and much appreciated help. Please accept a heartfelt “Thank You” and a hand Salute for everything ya’ll did. And for everybody in Chapter 39 of the DAV, a hardy “Congratulations” for a job well done!

Was there with my son Blake this morning! He was totally awed by the whole presentation. The piper was especially touching to my soul this morning. I thought your comments were particularly timely and agreed with all you had to say. I met a man who fought at Ya Drang Valley; sorry to say I can’t remember his name! Ya Drang was immortalized by Mel Gibson’s movie, “We were soldiers”. This was by far the best Memorial Day I have had in the last fifteen years. Thank you so much for making it so. JimBO.

Dear Cavalry,
I just wanted to say thank you for all that you have done, Calvary honoring, being here for me and my family including heath and Tammy. I really enjoyed the honoring after I got passed the tears of enjoyment. It hit me how much you all do for active duty soldiers and vets. Yet again, I must say thank you so very much and the ride was wonderful thank you again.
