2/10/2013 – Hubert Tarver
By definition, to volunteer is to render service freely, without regard to compensation.
We witnessed such generosity on Sunday, February 10th, when the Brazoria County Cavalry,
despite drizzling rain, honored our father, Hubert Ray Tarver at his home on his 90th birthday.
A good number of family and dear friends were in attendance for this act of kindness. I particularly appreciated the additional spotlight on Dad’s friend, Mr. Joe Shaffer for his military service as well. Every single person there was uplifted by the genuine expressions of gratitude for his and others’ dedication to our country.
Dad said it was his best birthday ever!
We recognize the amount of sacrifice involved in all that the Cavalry does and hope you are all blessed accordingly. We wish to heartily thank each individual that participated in the honoring of our father and other veterans that day.
Brazoria County Calvary has left an indelible mark on the hearts of our family.
Thanking you many times over,
