2/10/2013 – Hubert Tarver

Thank you Brazoria County Cavalry beyond words that can describe for the beautiful ceremony honoring my father, Mr. Hubert Ray Tarver, for his military service during his 90th birthday this last Sunday. Also honored at that time were his 2 sons, his daughter-in-law, a grandson and even a great-grandson currently serving in the Marines . There were several others there that were honored including Daddy’s best friend, Mr. J. D. Schafer, who is 92ish! The event was one that will provide us with warm memories to last a lifetime.

My husband Brad and I would like to make a donation on behalf of all of our family and friends to show our deepest gratitude and fondest appreciation for your service to our nation’s retired military heroes, and to help provide funds to continue your wonderful work. I also have some photos from Sunday I will post on your website.

As it was starting to rain toward the end of the ceremony, my sister Chris did not have the opportunity to mention her deceased husband, Mike Van Horn, for his service to the city of Lake Jackson. He was a volunteer firefighter for 16 years, was on one of the first paramedic teams and also volunteered with the LJ police department, including teaching CPR. He died of cancer in l999; he made a huge impact on many people.

Again, thank you Cavalry for the sacrifices made to honor our retired military heroes who risk their lives to make our country free and secure. God Bless you, Cavalry and all of our military. Take care. I am looking forward to attending Saturday’s big event!

Kindest Regards,
Kat Tarver Roebuck
