6/19/10 – Christopher Petrosky

I just got a call from the grandmother who was at the first ride this past Sat. (yesterday at 1:00 in Brazoria).  She said that they all talked about that until late last night. They had the best time. They were all touched and could not believe how many riders showed up just for their grandson. This will be a day that they will never forget. Her husband was one of the grandpa’s we honored as a vet. He cried and said that he never thought he would ever hear the words, “Welcome Home”. He said that meant so much to him and could see how sincere BCC really was about our mission in life. He said he could feel the love and admiration from each and everyone of us. Chris could not believe that people who didn’t even know him, showed up to send him off. He told his grandmother, that yesterday really made him feel proud to do what he was doing. I have always said, “You never know when ONE act, or ONE word of encouragement can change a Life forever”! My dear friends…… we did JUST THAT!! We changed the heart of that vet and the grandson. Forever!!! We opened the door for the grandpa to finally speak out about his ordeal. She said he shared stories with them last night that they have never heard!!! THAT’S WHEN YOU FEEL SO PROUD OF WHAT YOU DO on those very hot days!! Everyone deserves a pat on the back for a Job so well done!! You make ME so proud to be a part of such caring individuals. God bless each and every one of you!!! I am so proud to call you “friends”. It just makes my day when I get phone calls like that. Thanks for all your help and assistance. Yesterday was a great day and the last ride was a terrific way to end it!!! Gary and I felt so good, (tired maybe) but we felt like we had really accomplished a lot. Thanks for the opportunity to serve our county by taking these leads when we can. It means a lot to us!!!!  Okay, I’m through!! See you later!!!
