2/14/10 – BCC Anniversary # 2
Outstanding is the word that comes to mind. I was moved to tears at the ceremony Sunday. A lot of things hit home during the ceremony. Being a disabled veteran I could not help but relive a lot of my life in a couple of hours. I lost several friends while I was in the service and I think of them often but I never cried until Sunday. My brother was a fireman and died of cancer 11 years ago. His funeral was attended by all the local fire departments. The street in front of the church was closed to make room for all the trucks and ambulances, it was awesome. I still have trouble looking at a fire truck. Marvin Setzer is my wife’s cousin. John Rape grew up across the street from my mom, I knew him when he was a little kid. I was not prepared to be touched in so many ways. I was glad the lights were out. I could go on but I won’t. I do want to say thank you to all of you.
Thanks,
Stanley Montgomery
