David McCormick 05/04/08

Thank you so much for escorting David when he arrived from Iraq. You will never know how many lives you touched that day. You certainly touched ours.

Thank you, too, for his hat. David would certainly be proud to wear it, I assure you. He would be excited about being an honorary member!

I wish you could hear the many comments I have heard. SGT Palmer, for instance, told all of his buddies at Ft. Campbell about the patriotism shown by your group. Those fellows and gals there need to know how much we appreciate them. Some of my friends who are Vietnam Vets have told me how much the show of patriotism has meant to them, also. You have touched them deeply.

Thank you for being such a blessing!

No one could have had a more grand welcome home Hero than what Spec David McCormick received today. There was so much love in the air along with everyone putting aside their selfishness, predigest and feelings stemming from our present political conditions. It seemed like we all who participated and stood on the side united even if just for a short while. You were right when you told me that it would be something to see. It was a very emotional time for me as well as others. In that time while I stood as the vehicles all drove by it gave me the quit time to reflect on how so many things that a lot of people take for granted. And how we should thank the good Lord for all of the many blessings he gives us daily even if small blessings. The many strangers that all worked together to help continue David’s trip home, even though their interest may be different, along with skin color, rich/poor, Veteran/ non- Veteran; it was a grand site to be a part of.

I commend Brazoria County Cavalry as well as the Military, VFW and Fire departments who helped. I recognized many of the bikers as they drove by where I was standing. There were some who are from Sargent as well as Phillips. My prayer goes out to David’s family, his troop in Iraq as well as his friends everywhere.

Thanks, Brazoria County Cavalry for your continued love for people.
God bless you and all who welcomed David home as well as your families.

Love,
Jo
