Thank You!! – 8/23/09

I don’t know how to put this into words but I’ll try.  When we were asked to take on the additional 430+ soldiers that are going from Germany to Iraq I panicked.  We are starting to get letters out and some donations coming in to the group but for the most part it has been coming out of our pockets the last 2 years.  We try to send packages and or cards to everyone on our list for the major holidays and their birthdays about 4 times a year.  Of course the soldiers that are stationed overseas need more and different items then the soldiers stationed in the states.  But we acknowledge and honor all of them.  After I got done panicking I prayed A LOT I knew if this was supposed to happen he’d let me know – I got my answer tonight.  I am overwhelmed at the support and generosity of the Brazoria County Cavalry, before we even left the staging area I was handed money ($173.00) and when Dog took your hat around another $356.20 for a total of 592.20!!!  Along with several people asking for our 501c-3 with the possibility of other support in the future.  When we were working on the Katrina Relief there were a lot of GOD moments, we would run out of something or need additional beds, food etc and someone would walk in the door and ask if we could use the items that we needed.  Those were GOD moments, he provides. I know in my heart we are doing something good for our soldiers, the hospital in Baghdad and keeping the chaplains store stocked.  We get a lot of requests for the pocket crosses to be sent in bulk as well as the pillowcases made into duffle bags we send to the hospital.  I know it will happen, one way or another because God is behind us.  And he has a lot of angels in the Brazoria County Cavalry.  Bless you all!!!

Clayton Maddox – 8/22/09

Wow! What an experience! The family of Clayton L. Maddox would like to say Thank You to the Brazoria County Cavalry. It will be an unforgettable evening forever. Clayton and his wife, Alicia, knew we were planning a “Gathering”, but had no idea it would be this big. From sirens, police, fire truck, lots of motorcycles, and all our family, friends and neighbors, it was an incredible experience. I knew the BC Cavalry would be making a presentation but had no idea it would be so awesome! Tyson Marshall did a wonderful job as leader. We feel very blessed to live in a county that takes such pride in honoring our Soldiers who fight for our Freedom.

May God bless all who attended,

Jeff and Doris Maddox

Wow, oh my goodness Wow!!!!! What an awesome group of people you are! What a blessing you have been to my family! I have spent all this week trying to figure out how to say thank you to all of you, and the words just never seem enough… I sat down last night, and watched the video of the time that you all spent with us, and it is so truly amazing. I am at a loss for words. I so appreciate everything that you all did, not only for my daughter, but for every hero that we had here.  Reminding these folks that true Americans do still exist, and that true Americans really do care is one of the greatest gifts in the world. I will confess, there were times during the week that I was tempted to call you and tell you not to come out…I have been a mother of military for quite awhile now, and my experiences with groups that want to help military hasn’t been very good…. Most of those other people just wanted to proclaim how great they were with that “look what we did” attitude, and I was afraid that it would be the same with you all…. I was/am so pleasantly pleased that it was so different!!!! You all made it all about her, you didn’t think about yourselves or try to give glory to all you do…. You just told us how grateful you are and offered yourselves to not only her, but to us as a family!  We knew that we had family friends in the group, but didn’t realize, how many until you brought them out. You made our day. You made Charity’s day, and you lifted the hearts of a few vets out there, who have wondered if anyone really gave a damn….they were reminded with a roar of how much folks care. To say thank you just doesn’t seem enough, but I don’t know any other way to express my gratitude for what you ALL have given my family. Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you!!!!

Brandon Osburn – 8/8/09

Brazoria County Cavalry,

THANK YOU so…much for the outpouring of love and support for not only my son but all of our military! What ya’ll do is so amazing, if people don’t see Christ in ya’ll and in what ya’ll do, they are blind. Thank you again it really meant a lot to Brandon to be honored that way.  He is stationed in Colorado Springs when he is home and the locals there, not to mention the law enforcement, are so rude and hateful to our military guys, so for them to see that people of America do appreciate what they are doing is a true blessing.

 Thank You,

Melinda Osburn – Angleton, Texas
