Jason Powless – 9/11/09

Dear Brazoria County Cavalry,

Thank you each and everyone of you that showed up to help send our son off to Fort Benning, Georgia. The look on his face is one I will never forget. His little brother and sister almost spilled the beans once but he was truly surprised. Thank you! I expected just for you all to show up and shake his hand, I had no idea of the tokens of gratitude you gave to Jason. I am very thankful for your organization. I was less than 10 years old when Vietnam ended and I read with shame years later a few autobiographies that detailed some of the treatment our brave men and women suffered at the hands and spit of their fellow countrymen they were over there fighting for. Every time I read in the Facts about one of your gatherings I am so proud and thankful that there is one more military person who will not have to endure that kind of treatment. Thank You Again from the bottom of our hearts. Will try to email the pictures we have within the week. Thank You. All gave some and some gave all.

Calvary,

There are simply not enough words to describe what the Brazoria County Calvary means to the men and women that come home for a visit and to their families of the heroes that live in this community. Both my sons were so touched by your interest in coming to show them how much they mean to all of the community, a community they were raised in. It gives us as parent’s great pride to share our boy’s lives with all of you, because we are so very proud of them and we believe they are making a difference in this world of ours. At the same time we are so proud of our community represented in the Calvary that takes the time unselfishly to honor the great men and women in the Military from this county. The caps and flags given to them meant a lot because it’s a reminder of the appreciation that was given to them. Our oldest son Juan stayed here a little longer than Lucas and he so proudly wore the cap everyday. I hadn’t seen him wear a cap in a very long time. Thank you for helping us make both of our sons visit a memorable one for them. May God continue to bless each and every one of you for your time in this very awesome ministry of yours.

 Sincerely,

Juan and Silvia Rodriguez

Thank you so much for showing my new son in law, Derek, such honor and respect that you did at his and my daughter, Melissa’s wedding. He may not see himself as a hero like I do, but I am glad that he got to see that other people out there has respect for the men and women of the US military, for him, for what he does, for what he has been through. It means the world to me and to my daughter. I don’t think I can thank you enough for what you do, not only for him, but for everyone that you have done this for. I would also like to send out a special thanks to Patti and John Ward with Matagorda Calvary for speaking and giving him a certificate to Ryan’s. I know it must have been hard for them to do, but it meant the world to us. Thank you again for making their special day even more special. It is a day that their wedding guest will never forget. It is a day that I will never forget.

Sincerely,

Paula Browning

Dear Brazoria County Cavalry,

You guys always remind the men and women who come out to support BCC how important each one of them are and their presence, how they are changing lives. But do they really know that their presence truly makes a difference in each veteran’s life?

It’s hard to put into words how this past Saturday with BCC surprising Fred, and his son Mark, changed his whole demeanor.  BCC’s surprise visit lifted him up out of depression and gave him a renewed confidence and boosted his self-esteem. What a healing process right in front of my eyes!

We love each and every one of you and all that you do…keep on doing it… each one of you is a Hero!

I speak on behalf of Fred and our family…Thank you and God Bless the members of BCC!

 Respectfully,

Katie Beaudet
