I cannot express my gratitude enough. What you all do not only honors those who serve, but also makes it easier for family and friends to deal with deployments and separations due to service. I believe that the younger members of my family have a better understanding of why Joey has to go away for a while. I served 22 years in the Army, with 5 years in Afghanistan alone. I couldn’t be prouder of my sons, and I look forward to the opportunity to honor other vets with the Brazoria County Cavalry.
Thank You

The Cavalry is always a welcome addition to our family functions. They are absolutely fantastic. The only thing that could be done better is absolutely nothing. They are a loving and patriotic group of VOLUNTEERS. The day was COLD and extremely wet and yet they showed up to honor my son and his family. They were absolutely FANTASTIC. I think we need to get all the recipients of the BCC benevolence and have have a huge APPRECIATION party for them. You Gentlemen and Ladies are totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!

Yesterday I biked down to Lake Jackson to join the Brazoria Cavalry in a surprise send off for USN Master Chief Jon Batey. It was a complete surprise organized by his church pastor and timed perfectly. When the service was over and people were filing out, we roared upon the parking lot with fire truck siren and loud pipes. MC Batey returns to Afghanistan after tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan already with a very long list of citations and medals (several awarded multiple times). We made our presentation and acknowledged all of the veterans in the congregation as well. MC Batey was moved by all this as was the congregation. This was a fine example of an American hero’s commitment by him and sacrifice by his family. For you see MC Jon Batey is 56 years old! Pray he returns.

Thank you for making my husband’s departure to Afghanistan a memorial experience last Sunday. We will never forget the support you showed Jon.
The pictures were great.

Sandy Batey

I want to thank you again for your wonderful ceremony today at First Christian Church of Lake Jackson for our own Jon Batey, Master Chief Petty Officer, US Navy, Seabees. He has been on a tour of duty in a battle zone about 2 years ago and is going on another this Thursday.
