I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the BCC that participated in escorting my father, Jerry Lee Brown, to his final resting place. Dad served from Sept 1953 to June 1956. He was and will always be a proud Marine. BCC members took time away from their own lives and family to be there for my family in our time of sorrow. God’s favor shall shine on each of you for your selfless acts of kindness in honoring the men and women who fight and believe in this Country. And I want to say a special thank you to Tracey Read … you are a blessing. God Bless and Thank You All.

Well Perry returned to Hawaii yesterday. The family was so happy to have him return from Afghanistan safely. We want to thank the Brazoria County Cavalry for making his return home special. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him grin so big. Not only did the Cavalry recognize my son, but also my husband (Randy) along with the rest of the vets that attended. It was quite a celebration. Please continue to pray for Perry and the rest of the men and women that are keeping us safe.
TO UNCLE SAM:
Uncle Sam, I give my son to you,
A tall young lad, who you’ll find loyal, true;
He joins brave men who’ve come from far and wide
To keep aloft our heritage and pride.
These eighteen years, my boy has laughed and played;
Grew to young manhood eager, unafraid.
A way of life, blessed by the one above,
That he will guard with all his strength and love.
Uncle Sam, my son belongs to you,
Now proudly clad in uniform of blue;
When Victory’s won, and men again are free,
God willing, you will give him back to me.

First of all, let me express my thanks to your organization and its members for the honor bestowed on me and for what your organization does. This is priceless to those of us in all branches of the service that have served. Your members bring this community together in a time when most communities ignore what is going on around them.
Funny thing here is that, I had to come to Brazoria, TX., a town of under 3000 people to know what respect and community are all about.
Again, thank you and all members from the bottom of my heart.
Bravo Zulu
