Zack Paul & Wallace Kelly – 2/7/09

Dear BCC Members,

There are no words for how we feel for each and every one of you. The ride on Sat. Feb. 7th for Zack and Wallace was the most awesome thing my family and I had ever experienced. With Wallace having spent 3 tours in Viet Nam and never having closure over it, he just did not know how to get it done within him. He was there because Zack was leaving for his time in the Navy and wanted him to have something that he never had…so thank you so much for giving this to Wallace and for Zack. Zack kept saying, but I didn’t do anything! Yes, you did Zack, you are fighting for our freedom to be able to keep doing this over and over again! Several of my family members drove 300 miles for our get-together and thought they would see 3 or 4 motorcycles and when you came down that road and there were about 60 of you. They were blown away! After we left the parking lot that afternoon, we could not wait to get to the house and download the pictures so we could re-live it again and again. They have sent the pictures to everyone they know everywhere and people are calling telling them how awesome they thought it was…and it was! My brother and sister-in-law that came from Comanche County were so thrilled for Zack and feel that every military person needs this and want to be the ones to start one in their county. So, in closing, thank you for doing this for Zack, even though he is not from Brazoria County and thank you from the bottom of my heart for Wallace, now, maybe this will be the start of the end! One last thing, we joined the Calvary on Sunday, the 8th because we want to help make a difference in someone else’s life. Sincerely and from the bottom of my heart,

I love each and every one of you.

Cory T. Watson – 2/7/09

Dear Brazoria County Cavalry Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the welcome home ride in honor of my son, Marine CPL Cory T. Watson. Cory was recently on a 7 month deployment to Japan. It was his first deployment. As I’m sure you know, deployments are hard on everyone, especially the first one. What you do for our American Heroes is unbelievable. To say Cory was surprised was an understatement! He was in awe. He could not believe you had all gathered for him. Like most of our American Heroes, he isn’t looking for attention or glory. He was just “doing his job”. I feel it is very important for you to know how much your work and support is appreciated. I would like to thank Tracy Read and Jon Baker. They initially set up the ride and continually kept me informed of the progress. Thank you to Rep. Dennis Bonnen for the Texas Flag. This flag has flown over our state capitol. It is truly a special gift. I would also like to thank Robert & Darlene Thornsberry, (Fishing for Heroes), Judith Hensley, (IHOP), West of the Brazos Military Moms, Anna Turner (v7 Photo), Brazoria County Fair Association, and the many businesses and community members who support Brazoria County Calvary and our American Heroes. Your gifts are priceless! On a personal note I would like to thank my colleague, Jeff Detrick. His passion and pride for the Cavalry is evident, so much so, that my husband and I are planning on becoming members even though we don’t have a motorcycle! Thank you to Micki & Yolanda Martinez. They were our neighbors and friends when Cory was growing up. Having them ride for Cory was amazing! Please keep Cory in your prayers. He is scheduled to leave for Afghanistan sometime between November and January.

Thank you,

The Watson and York families.

Thank You!

Great job gang.  I’ve never seen so many tear filled eyes, both joyous and sad.  Thank you all so much.
