*NOTICEFALLEN FIREFIGHTER and HERO** Matagorda County Cavalry has been contacted to assist the family of Albert "Buddy" Dodd by organizing an escort to his final resting place. Buddy was a long time resident of Matagorda and an active firefighter till the very end. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home. This will be a great opportunity for Matagorda County Cavalry to show respect and honor for this American Hero. This will be a white shirt, black pants, and bolo tie for those that have them. Please wear your Matagorda County Cavalry logo proudly. Directions: Coming into Matagorda on Hwy 60, Matagorda United Methodist Church is on your right. go past the church to Market St. Turn right and pull into the fire department parking lot. Staging will be behind the church in the large parking lot that joins the Matagorda Fire Hall parking. Note: The funeral service starts at 10:00AM. Please be at staging area by 9:15AM so as not to disrupt family and loved ones arriving for the funeral. Remember to drink plenty of water. NOTE: Matagorda County Cavalry members and others on motorcycles or vehicles.
