****NOTICE**** Matagorda County Cavalry will be escorting firefighters, Honor Guard and fire trucks from Bay City Fire Department to Wharton. This escort is for the Bay City Fire Department and Honor Guard to assemble, stand guard and escort Fallen Hero, Firefighter, Thomas Aragus to his final resting place. Once MCC has completed our mission of escorting our Firefighters and Fire Trucks, we will dismiss. However, those that wish to stay for the funeral escort that is organized by the Patriot Guard can do so if they wish. Info on that escort is detailed in PGR Itinerary listed below. Please wear your matagorda County Cavalry logo proudly. Dress attire please, with white shirt, black jeans, and bolo tie if you have them. Directions to Taylor Brothers Funeral Home: Going south on 7th St (Hwy 35), turn left onto Ave I and continue to 4th St. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home is on the left. **************************************************** ********************* *********Final PGR Itinerary for Thomas Aragus********** Obituary: The family of Thomas Araguz III, a Captain in the Wharton Texas Volunteer Fire Department, has requested the presence of the SE Texas PGR on Sunday July 11, 2010, to stand tall and silent in honor of this First Responder and American Hero. Thomas tragically lost his life on 3 July 2010, while fighting a fire in Boling, TX. He leaves behind a wife and two sons, ages 7 & 9. Service will be conducted at the Wharton Civic Center, 1924 N. Fulton at 2:00 p.m. with internment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton. Mission Date: Sunday, July 11, 2010 Staging Time: 11:30 - 12:40 Briefing Time: 12:40 - 12:50 In Position Time or KSU: 1:00 p.m. ******************************************************* Details of PART 1: Staging: Scheduled to be at the Wharton ISD Admin Parking Lot @ 2100 North Fulton, which is located next to the Civic Center. Nearest cross street to this address is McElroy Drive off of 59 Business in Wharton. PGR members will stage bikes and cages at this location, and WALK across the street to the services at the civic center. Staging Address for Part 1: 2100 North Fulton, Wharton, Tx Weather Forecast: Very HOT, Very Humid - Hydrate before mission. Comments: FAST TEAM LEAD - Corky Hamilton. Participants - Be prepared to be staged as we always stage bikes (Flag bikes versus non flag bikes.) Corky will lead FAST Team (Non-Flag bikes) to Cemetery which is approximately 2 miles away via back roads at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton. Flag bikes - Be prepared for the funeral procession to take an indirect route to the cemetery thru downtown Wharton. (total distance - approximately 3 miles) This will be a very slow procession thru the city to allow the population of Wharton to pay their respects to this American hero. NOTE: Matagorda County Cavalry members and others on motorcycles or vehicles. |
