**HAPPY NEW YEAR** Matagorda County Cavalry would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and your families a Happy and Blessed New Year! We want to thank each and every one of you for your support and participation in 2009, our first year. You get it! You understand! Freedom Isn't Free! You also know "It's Not About Us". Everything we do is about supporting and honoring our American Heroes. 2009 is behind us now as we reflect on the good things we have done as we have honored our American Heroes. Over ninety percent of our rides/escorts were for happy occasions, whether they were "Welcome Home", "Send Off", parades, or even a spur of the moment "Surprise Send Off". Ten percent or so of our rides/escorts in 2009 have been very sad occasions. These are the rides/escorts we dread to do, for they are for our Fallen Heroes. However, Matagorda County Cavalry answers the call and request of the Fallen Hero’s family as we gather in force to esco rt their precious beloved to his or her final place of rest. This we do with the utmost respect and honor that these Fallen American Heroes deserve. We must never forget what these Heroes have done for us! Please keep the families of Fallen Heroes in your prayers. God Bless each and every one of you and again....Happy New Year!
