MCC members, I want to personally thank each and every one of you that participated in the ride to El Campo with us today. We can't stress enough the importance of what you do for our American Heroes with your steadfast and unselfish support. What you do touches many, many lives in a very positive and uplifting way. Some 140 Guardsmen were at the El Campo Gym today getting ready to deploy to Iraq soon. These soldiers were from many communities in Texas. If we touched just one soldier's heart today or even a family member of that soldier....we have accomplished our mission. Did it rain today? Yes it did! Did we get wet from the rain today? We sure did! However, we now sit here nice and dry tonight in the comfort of our homes as if we weren't soaked from the rain a few hours earlier. The Guardsmen we proudly supported today will not have that same comfort in the coming months in Iraq. In fact they will be fighting and living in terrible conditions to put it mildly. They do this so that WE are safe here at home.....so that WE are FREE here at home. My personal commitment to these American Heroes is" I will be there for them, whether it is raining, or it is hot, or whether it is cold. It is the least I can do....it is the least Matagorda County Cavalry can do. May God bless each and every one of you. God Bless America and God Bless the Cavalry. Sincerely, Danny R.
